- Titus 3:4-7 …being justified by His
grace…
-
- But when the
kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not
on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to
His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
- so that being
justified by His grace…join
with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, who has
saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but
according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus
from all eternity, if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works,
otherwise grace is no longer grace…knowing that a man is not justified by the
works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in
Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the
works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified…
The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin
increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, even
so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord…For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would
be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of
faith. For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the
promise is nullified; for the Law brings about wrath, but where there is no
law, there also is no violation. For this reason it is by faith, in order that
it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to
all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those
who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all…God, being rich
in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were
dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you
have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the
heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the
surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by
grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the
gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast…justified as a
gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;
