Wisdom from Proverbs: The Fool

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel…The wise of heart will receive commands, but a babbling fool will be ruined…he who spreads slander is a fool…Doing wickedness is like sport to a fool…A fool's anger is known at once…a fool displays folly…A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is arrogant and careless…A fool rejects his father's discipline…Excellent speech is not fitting for a fool…A rebuke goes deeper into one who has understanding than a hundred blows into a fool…Let a man meet a bear robbed of her cubs, rather than a fool in his folly…Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom, when he has no sense?...the father of a fool has no joy…Wisdom is in the presence of the one who has understanding, But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth…A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in revealing his own mind…A fool's lips bring strife, and his mouth calls for blows…A fool always loses his temper, but a wise man holds it back…A fool's mouth is his ruin, and his lips are the snare of his soul…Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in speech and is a fool…Keeping away from strife is an honor for a man, but any fool will quarrel…Like snow in summer and like rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool…He cuts off his own feet and drinks violence who sends a message by the hand of a fool…Like an archer who wounds everyone, so is he who hires a fool or who hires those who pass by…Like a dog that returns to its vomit is a fool who repeats his folly…Though you pound a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain, yet his foolishness will not depart from him…A stone is heavy and the sand weighty, but the provocation of a fool is heavier than both of them…He who trusts in his own heart is a fool…Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
