- Speech

- Let your speech always be with grace,
as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to
each person…The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the
evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil…The lips of the wise
spread knowledge, but the hearts of fools are not so…A soothing tongue is a
tree of life, but perversion in it crushes the spirit…Words from the mouth of
a wise man are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him; the beginning
of his talking is folly and the end of it is wicked madness…Incline your ear
and hear the words of the wise, and apply your mind to my knowledge; for it
will be pleasant if you keep them within you, that they may be ready on your
lips…Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken in right
circumstances…The wise in heart will be called understanding, and sweetness of
speech increases persuasiveness…Better is a poor man who walks in his
integrity than he who is perverse in speech and is a fool…Let no unwholesome
word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification
according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who
hear…Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in
Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.
