- Something New
-
- Do not call to mind the former things,
or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will
spring forth; will you not be aware of it?...Thus says God the LORD, who
created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and its
offspring, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk
in it, "I am the LORD, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold
You by the hand and watch over You, and I will appoint You as a covenant to
the people, as a light to the nations, to open blind eyes, to bring out
prisoners from the dungeon and those who dwell in darkness from the prison. I
am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, nor My
praise to graven images. Behold, the former things have come to pass, now I
declare new things; before they spring forth I proclaim them to you…Moreover,
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove
the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."…Therefore
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away;
behold, new things have come…For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
and the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and
rejoice forever in what I create…Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for
the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any
sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from
God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice
from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He
will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be
among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will
no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or
pain; the first things have passed away." And He who sits on the throne said,
"Behold, I am making all things new." And He said, "Write, for these words are
faithful and true."…according to His promise we are looking for new heavens
and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
