Scriptural Encouragement & Exhortation

 

Romans 12:1, 2 – ‘I urge you brethren’

 

Therefore I urge you, brethren...I, Paul, myself urge you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ…we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God…working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain…We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone…I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment…brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more…as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren…But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more…Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul…I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them…I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called…even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me…Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me.
