Therefore I urge you,
brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and holy
sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And
do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and
acceptable and perfect…O
LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For
You have worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness…The
law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is
sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing
the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The
fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are
true; they are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes,
than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the
honeycomb. Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is
great reward…As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the LORD is tried;
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him…The works of His hands are truth
and justice; All His precepts are sure. They are upheld forever and ever; They
are performed in truth and uprightness. He has sent redemption to His people;
He has ordained His covenant forever; Holy and awesome is His name. The fear
of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those
who do His commandments; His praise endures forever…The Rock! His work is
perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without
injustice, Righteous and upright is He…As for God, His way is blameless; The
word of the LORD is tested; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. For
who is God, besides the LORD? And who is a rock, besides our God?...Be of
sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a
roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith,
knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your
brethren who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while,
the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will
Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
