Encouragement
& Exhortation
- Romans 12:1, 2 – To present your
bodies a living and holy sacrifice
- January 29, 2008

- Therefore I urge
you, brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and
holy sacrifice…What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits
toward me? I shall lift up the cup of salvation And call upon the name of the
LORD…Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for
obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in
death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?...Or do you not know that
your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from
God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price:
therefore glorify God in your body…Therefore do not let sin reign in your
mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the
members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present
yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as
instruments of righteousness to God…knowing that you were not redeemed with
perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited
from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and
spotless, the blood of Christ…For the love of Christ controls us, having
concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for
all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him
who died and rose again on their behalf…For not one of us lives for himself,
and not one dies for himself; for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we
die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the
Lord's…For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly,
righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the
appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave
Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself
a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
