- Quietness
-
- The LORD your God is in your midst, a
victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His
love…My heart is in anguish within me, and the terrors of death have fallen
upon me. Fear and trembling come upon me, and horror has overwhelmed me. I
said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at
rest."…thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, "In repentance and
rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength."…the Spirit
is poured out upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fertile
field, and the fertile field is considered as a forest. Then justice will
dwell in the wilderness and righteousness will abide in the fertile field. And
the work of righteousness will be peace, and the service of righteousness,
quietness and confidence forever…they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and
He brought them out of their distresses. He caused the storm to be still, so
that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad because they were
quiet, so He guided them to their desired haven…He makes me lie down in green
pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters…The LORD preserves the simple; I was
brought low, and He saved me. Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has
dealt bountifully with you. For You have rescued my soul from death, my eyes
from tears, my feet from stumbling…Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for
Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man
who carries out wicked schemes...My soul waits in silence for God only; from
Him is my salvation…My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from
Him…There will be silence before You, and praise in Zion, O God, and to You
the vow will be performed.
