Prayer: pt4
- Our Father who is in heaven…
-
- Do not call anyone on earth your
father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven…O LORD, the God of our
fathers, are You not God in the heavens? And are You not ruler over all the
kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can
stand against You…our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He
pleases…Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth, in the
seas and in all deeps…Remember this, and be assured; Recall it to mind, you
transgressors. Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there
is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the
beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, 'My
purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure'…Thus
says the LORD, "Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then
is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest?...But
I say to you, make no oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of
God, or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, or by Jerusalem,
for it is THE CITY OF THE GREAT KING…But will God indeed dwell on the earth?
Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, how much less this
house which I have built!...The God who made the world and all things in it,
since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with
hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He
Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from
one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having
determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that
they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though
He is not far from each one of us…For thus says the high and exalted One Who
lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell on a high and holy place, and also
with the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the
lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite…To You I lift up my eyes, O You
who are enthroned in the heavens! Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the
hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so
our eyes look to the LORD our God, until He is gracious to us.
