COMFORT

 

“Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God…O may Your lovingkindness comfort me, According to Your word to Your servant…Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me…I will turn their mourning into joy And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow…Then you will say to Me on that day, "I will give thanks to You, O LORD; For although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, And You comfort me.  Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation."…Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ…This is my comfort in my affliction, That Your word has revived me…Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets. But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full…I have remembered Your ordinances from of old, O LORD, And comfort myself…Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
