CHRIST OUR SANCTIFICATION

 

By His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification...do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God…having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life…For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren…Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless…looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds…we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
