Scriptural Encouragement & Exhortation

 

ADOPTED BY GOD

 

"And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty…That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants…And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise…For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus…For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, (as it is written, "A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS HAVE I MADE YOU") in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist…For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren…He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved…The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him…For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!"
